1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and password. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. You may optionally provide a display name, bio, and profile information.

Platform Activity

We record your activity on the Platform, including articles submitted, reviews completed, votes cast, challenges initiated, and credit transactions. This data is used to calculate your public trust score and is visible on your persona profile.

Technical Data

We collect standard technical data including browser type, device information, IP address, and page visit timestamps. This data is used for security, performance monitoring, and abuse prevention.

Feedback

When you submit feedback through the feedback widget, we collect the message content, the page URL where feedback was submitted, your user agent, and your user identity if you are logged in.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain the Platform and your account
To calculate and display trust scores, credit balances, and review metrics
To power the peer review, challenge, and staking systems
To display your public persona profile to other users
To send password reset emails and essential account notifications
To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and coordinated manipulation
To improve the Platform based on aggregated usage patterns

3. Public Information

The following information is publicly visible by design and essential to the Platform's trust-based model:

Your display name and handle
Your trust score and trust tier
Your published articles and their review scores
Your review activity (vote counts, fact-check counts)
Your expertise areas and vote accuracy metrics

This transparency is fundamental to the Platform's credibility system. Your email address is never publicly displayed.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides enterprise-grade PostgreSQL hosting with row-level security, encrypted connections, and regular backups. Authentication is handled through Supabase Auth with industry-standard security practices.

We implement role-based access controls across three database schemas to ensure data isolation between public, authenticated, and administrative access levels.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Supabase — Authentication, database, and real-time features
Vercel — Application hosting and deployment

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use advertising trackers or share data with ad networks.

6. Data Retention

Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. Published articles and review contributions are retained as part of the Platform's public record even after account deletion, but your persona profile will be deactivated and your email address removed. You may request full data deletion by contacting us through the feedback system.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your personal data stored on the Platform
Correct inaccurate personal information
Request deletion of your account and associated data
Export your content and activity history
Withdraw consent for non-essential data processing

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies only: a session cookie for authentication and a site access cookie for the password gate (if enabled). We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party advertising cookies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be indicated by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
